Lunesta Side Effects - Learn the Painful Truth about Lunesta and

Lunesta is the brand name of Eszopiclone. It is a nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic agent that is being used in the treatment of insomnia. Lunesta is available in three different strengths, 1mg, 2mg, and 3mg depending on the degree of strength needed by the patient.

Among other hypnotic agents, Lunesta is the most commonly used as it is found to be safe and effective in the short term treatment in the elderly and is proven safe in younger adults. But just like any other hypnotic agents, Lunesta is not tolerated well by other people. Some people may take Lunesta well but others experience side effects. Though as reported, Lunesta's side effects are generally minor and may not even require professional treatment, but just the same, it's still side effect that can be avoided if we take a better alternative to Lunesta.

Note however that you don't have to suffer such nasty side effects if you use 'herbal type' sleeping pills which have much less side effects.

Lunesta (Eszopiclone Side Effects)

The common side effects of Lunesta may include:

  • Unpleasant bitter or metallic taste
  • Headaches
  • Chest pain
  • Cold-like symptons
  • Daytime drowsiness
  • Lightheadedness
  • Dizziness
  • Rashes
  • Itching
  • Incoordination
  • Swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
  • Painful or frequent urination
  • Back pain

There are also conflicting reports about whether Lunesta is in fact 'addictive' or not. Whether it is or not why take the chance? Try a herbal equivalent from SleepWell.

It's been reported that some people have experienced the following side effects: rashes, itching, incoordination, swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs, painful or frequent urination, and back pain.

Lunesta underwent extensive clinical trials, and many people were evaluated and during the study neuropsychiatric adverse effects were reported and it included the following: more outgoing behavior, confusion, agitation, auditory and visual hallucinations, worsening of depression, suicidal thoughts, depersonalization and amnesia.

Like any other sleep drugs, Lunesta is a controlled substance and may be abused and overdose of Lunesta may cause drowsiness, passing out, breathing trouble and death.

You see, it is quite possible that the user may or may not experience any side effects as they take Lunesta. Some side effects are too mild to be considered as side effects so more often than not they do not report these uneasinesss to their health care provider which should not be the case. Your health care provider is the right person who can diagnose and treat the problem so of all the people, he should know what you are feeling. So how can we avoid all these? By not taking Lunesta but taking the best herbal alternative instead.

Of course the obvious way to avoid all these side effects is to NOT take the pills in the first place. Given there are so many 'herbal' equivalents for Ambien it makes a lot of sense to at least try them out rather than have you or your loved ones worrying about some of the potential 'and dangerous' Lunesta side effects.
