Sandman Intro CPAP Machine Review

Reviewer: Gina Stewart

The Sandman Intro CPAP machine by Puritan Bennett is a lightweight machine that is

very user friendly and compact for easy travel. It comes with a long 6 foot hose so a patient can easily move about the bed to find the most comfortable position for sleep and can be purchased with a heated humidifier depending on which part of the country the patient is residing in.

The Sandman Intro CPAP machine by Puritan Bennett was designed as a lightweight machine to be discreet and easily portable for those who need to travel with their CPAP machine. It weighs less than 3 pounds and comes with a nice carrying case that can accommodate the 6 foot hose in addition to the machine.

In addition, the Sandman Intro CPAP machine also has a built-in Auto Altitude Compensation feature which accounts for barometric changes in altitude when the CPAP machine is hooked up in different regions of the country. This is a nice feature because a patient would not want to hunt down a CPAP distributor or doctor to adjust their machine everywhere they travel.

The Sandman Intro CPAP machine by Puritan Bennett contains a memory card to track insurance compliance; auto altitude adjustment; a parts replacement reminder system to remind the patient when it's time to order a new mask or filters; LCD backlit displays for easy readability at night; ramping times at five-minute intervals up to 25 minutes and a generous 6 foot hose.

The Sandman Intro CPAP machine uses APS - Adaptive Pressure Stability technology that limits the peak to peak variations of the CPAP pressure when the patient breathes in and out. Responding quickly and accurately to several common conditions, the adaptive pressure stability technology helps with the changes from a patient's prescribed pressure down to each and every breath.

One of the drawbacks to the Sandman Intro CPAP machine by Puritan Bennett is that you have to purchase the one with the heated humidifier if you live in a high humidity area because the regular Sandman Intro CPAP machine does not come with the heated humidifier.
