ProBasics Zzz-PAP Machine Review

Reviewer: Gina Stewart

The ProBasics Zzz-PAP is also known as the 'Silent Traveler' CPAP machine and is small in size, about the size of a square small loaf of bread. Its manufacturers claim it's one of

the quietest and smallest CPAP machines on the market today. In addition, they back its durability with an unprecedented two-year manufacturer's warranty.

The makers of the ProBasics Zzz-PAP CPAP machine, a division of PMI Invacare, suggest purchasing a heated humidifier to go along with this helpful sleep apnea symptom relieving machine because the basic model does not include one. This will add to the weight and length/size of the machine, but not by much.

The smallest CPAP machines on the market, the ProBasics Zzz-PAP CPAP machine delivers the same features as the larger units including the optional integrated heated humidifier, 45 minute ramping - using five minute intervals, altitude adjustment, a universal power supply and the two year warranty.

The ProBasics Zzz-PAP CPAP machine weighs in at 1.7 pounds and 5.3 pounds with the integrated heated humidifier, making it the lightest weight CPAP machine available today.

For those people sensitive to CPAP machine motors, the ProBasics Zzz-PAP CPAP machine would make a good choice for their sleep apnea troubles. The motor is virtually silent however there is some vibration noise as the air pushes through the rigid tubing that some people find annoying at first but quickly become used to it.

Many people purchased the ProBasics Zzz-PAP CPAP machine for travel only because it is light weight and does not take up that much room in a suitcase or carry-on luggage and does everything their large CPAP machines do for them. Additionally, the ProBasics Zzz-PAP CPAP machine accepts a 110 or 220v which means there is no need to carry an additional adapter, just plug the machine in a regular outlet and it's ready to go. (You may need a European adaptor if traveling to Europe.)

The ProBasics Zzz-PAP CPAP machine is more solidly constructed than most regular CPAP machines, with less plastic doors to open or other parts to make it fragile. It is less prone to breakage during airline baggage checking which makes it a great travel companion for sleep apnea sufferers.

The ProBasics Zzz-PAP CPAP machine Silent Traveler lives up to its name and delivers on every promise to compete and compare with the larger CPAP machines only this one does what the big guys do, quieter and in a smaller space.
